Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Guys! I think I mastered the cauliflower pizza crust…FINALLY!!!

Both the hubby and I were craving pizza all day yesterday, so we decided to do a pizza night at the casa 🙂 Since we went for a little run and workout around the neighborhood, we didn’t want to ruin it with a carb loading dinner session; instead, we opted for another try on the cauliflower crust! And it was a hit! I almost wish I made two pizzas because we scarfed it down so fast!

Ingredients :

  • 1 large cauliflower
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (depending on how spicy you want it)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons Parmesan cheese

Directions :

  1. preheat oven to 450°
  2. cut the florets (so that there isn’t much stem left – those are impossible to work with) and place in a food processor
  3. combine until the cauliflower is the consistency of snow; microwave in a microwave safe bowl for about 2 min
  4. let it sit until cooled down and then squeeze all the water out of the cauliflower so that it becomes a dough-like substance
  5. after drained, combine the cauliflower with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, mozzarella cheese and salt and pepper
  6. when combined, add egg and mix thoroughly (hands are the best tool)
  7. grease parchment paper and begin to form the pizza crust by moving the dough to form the shape of the crust you want
  8. bake for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown
  9. add your toppings (we chose turkey sausage and turkey pepperoni) and bake for another 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and top is golden brown
