Asian Inspired Ground Turkey and Green Beans

When the hubby is away on a work trip for a night or two, I always try and make something that he would normally say “no” to on a regular night – even though he always gets jealous because he’s usually eating out (he LOVES his homemade meals).

Tonight, I decided to try something a little different and completely simple. It had all the sweet flavors from the soy sauce, but also the spicy flavors from the sriracha which was a perfect combo for a night of dining in by myself ūüôā

Ingredients :

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 2 – 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 – 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • couple squirts of sriracha, depending on how spicy you want it
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 packet green beans (I usually buy the microwavable packets so I have them on hand when I need them any night during the week)
  • 1 or 2 glasses of wine — this is the most important ingredient by farrrrrr!

Directions

  1.  Heat olive oil in pan and add chopped onions
  2.  When onions are translucent, add minced garlic and cook for about a minute or two and then add ground turkey
  3.  Cook until browned, drain excess liquid and add soy sauce and sriracha and blend together
  4.  Cook green beans in microwave according to directions and then add them to ground turkey mixture
  5.  Add salt and pepper and cook for a couple minutes
  6.  Taste the mixture, and add anything else you need (i.e. soy sauce, sriracha, salt, etc.)

*** this recipe is fun because you can play around with the ingredients as much as you want to get the desired taste you want***
