Since the hubby and I actually have the wedding coming up in about 3 months now (AHHHHHH 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼), we are trying to eat healthy and limit our carb intake. Although this is homemade and made with organic ground turkey and black beans and everything, it’s not the most ideal meal for limiting the carbs…but it’s so worth it! 😋
I was craving tacos the other night, but honestly, when am I not craving those things?! I decided I wanted to do a different take on them, so tostados it was!
The prep work was amazingly easy. All I did was brush olive oil on both sides of the corn tortillas (those are my hubby and I’s favorite) and bake them at 450° for 5 minutes a side. This way, they were able to get nice and crisp, but you can adjust the time depending on the heat of the oven.
While the tortillas were cooking, I browned my ground turkey. You can use whatever meat you want, but once it was cooked through, I added a Taco Seasoning packet and cooked that thoroughly. The best part of this meal is that each person can build the tostado the way they like it. Personally, I like mine with black beans, the ground turkey, lettuce, sour cream and salsa. The hubby lovessssss pico, so he covers the tostado in pico de gallo pretty much!
It’s such a fun way to have taco night at the house without spending too much money or time in the kitchen! 👍🏼
