Crock pot Carnitas

There is never a time that the hubby and I are not in the mood for tacos ๐ŸŒฎ

Since I was home early on Friday, a crock pot meal sounded amazing! I had the pork shoulder in the fridge already, so I just went to the grocery store to grab the most important pieces to tacos…the corn tortillas!!!ย Corn tortillas are magical โ˜€๏ธ

When the hubby got home from work, the carnitas were done and ready to be made! It was all of his favorites too; we had the bar set up – corn tortillas, pico de Gallo, chopped cilantro, avocado and cheese ๐Ÿ˜‹

Helloooooo taco bar ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿฅ‘๐ŸŒฎ

 

Ingredients :

  • 2ยฝ lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Directions :

  1. Cut the pork shoulder into cubes, trimming off excess fat
  2. In the crock pot, combine all the ingredients and mix until all the pork is coated
  3. Cook on high for 4 hours
  4. With a fork, shred the cubed pork and serve ๐ŸŒฎ
